The Executive Director and founder of Safe Community Youth Initiative which is based in Kilifi County of Kenya. , a Peace Ambassador, Peace Monitor and a champion on Gender Equality and SRHR.Being the founder member of the Safe Community Youth Initiative, he has been able to address some of the challenges affecting young people in his community through various interventions supported by different organizations like Kenya Community Support Centre, YADEN, Usalama Reforms Forum, DSW Kenya, Amref Health Africa, Y-Act, Her Voice Fund, Children Rights and Violence Prevention Fund & Trace Kenya. As a youth representative and advocate, Benjamin has been able to mobilize resources and link different projects to community structures. He has also managed the hospitality and field activities of both Safe Community Youth Empowerment Centre.

Riziki Abdalla Yaa
Finance admin
Riziki Yaa Abdallah works under the Finance and Admin department of the Safe Community Youth Initiative. Sexual and Gender-Based violence continues to be a serious challenge in Kenya and the emergence of COVID-19 has only exacerbated it. As a founder member, she is passionate on prevention and response interventions, linking with health facilities, local gender desks, law enforcement officer’s station and court for fast tracking of case progress. As Child Protection Volunteer, vast in knowledge and skills on the protection, care and management on SGBV she is progressively building the capacity of the target group to eliminate gender-based violence through the development of preventive, protective, supportive and transformative environment in the County.

Graduated from Mt. Kenya University with Bachelors in Business Management, major in Banking & Finance option. She worked as an Intern at Imarika Sacco where she learned to communicate well with clients, open new accounts, assess and appraise loans & advances.She has over 6 years work experience;4 years experience as records Management Officer at NG-CDF, 1-year experience as an Office assistant at Hybrids East Africa ltd ,1-year experience as Finance & Admin officer at Ten Senses Africa Ltd. She Currently works as an Accountant at Safe Community Youth Initiative.She specializes in budget preparation process and monitoring reports, Tracking, analysis and reconciliation of SCYI levies and other revenues & preparing fixed asset register
Mangale Ali Nyawa
Program Manager
Mangale Ali Nyawa is a counselling psychologist, Peer educator, Inspirational speaker Facilitator, Youth advocate on Mental health and sexual reproductive health and rights. He is passionate about seeing individuals become the best version of themselves by focusing on self-growth and development. He is a trainer of trainee on Issues of Sexual Gender Based Violence, He participated in the development of a county SGBV program supported by the County Department of Gender and health in partnership with Institute of health from Finland Embassy in 2018 which was aimed at addressing the high cases of teenage pregnancies in Kilifi County. He has participated on Policy and budget advocacy at the county and national level. He also took part in development of the Kilifi County Youth Friendly Centers Needs Assessments Reports, Mental Health Awareness campaign and the Maoni Yetu Kenya Initiative.

Graduated from Kenyatta University with Certificate in Computer maintainace,Acquired skills in System configuration,Networking and Data processing . He worked as an Intern at North Coast beach hotel where he learned to communicate well with clients and serving people.He also has years of experience working in different sectors and work environment.During year 2017-2018 he worked at light-out cyber in mtwapa Kilifi gain experience in doing online services for clients and peforming hardware and software installation.

Joyce Moloo

Joyce Moloo works as the Administrative Assistant of the Safe Community Youth Initiative. Her interests are working with adolescents and young people on SRHR. Her experience in this field encourages her reach a variety of adolescents and young people through her choreographic skills. As an admin she performs all duties related to organizational office administration to the delight of all. As a beneficiary of the Young Adolescent Project supported by DSW-Kenya, she has managed to transit from YAP club chairperson to the Admin of the Safe Community Youth Initiative.
